10 Group conceived, developed and facilitated Collectors’ Space from 2013-2015.

In a short period of time, this annual exhibition of artworks from major private collections took on a significant role in Sydney’s contemporary art calendar.

Presented in a different location each year – from a former corporate CBD HQ to a converted warehouse in Surry Hills – Collectors’ Space is a dynamic exhibition of contemporary art. It presents art by Australian and international luminaries, rarely seen in public, and which may never be brought together again.

Collector’s Space has included works from a diverse list of collectors, from some of Australia’s most prominent philanthropists to media personalities and artists including Dick Quan, Andrew Cameron AM and Cathy Cameron, Lisa Havilah and Glenn Barkley, and Pat Corrigan AM. Artworks from these collections by artists including David Noonan, Shaun Gladwell, Destiny Deacon, Eko Nugroho, Nell, Simryn Gill and Brook Andrew, were generously loaned for the duration of each show.

Collectors’ Space 2015 was curated by Glenn Barkley and featured collectors Sue Cato, Nell and Kylie Kwong, and Max and Gaibrielle Germanos, Noel McKenna and Clinton Bradley. Barkley selected over a hundred works for exhibition in the former Ray Hughes Gallery, whilst the space played host to a public program of talks, dinners and events focused around the highs and lows, joys and frustrations, and the ins and outs of art collecting.
